Exploring NGOs–government collaboration strategies in institutionalising child-centred disaster resilience and climate change adaptation
16 Downloads
This article investigates long-term strategies for institutionalising child-centred disaster risk reduction (CCDRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) through collaboration between NGOs and government actors in Indonesia. Drawing on over a decade of research and field engagement in Rembang and Sikka, the study identifies hybrid institutional approaches—combining legislation, incentives, nudging, networks, and local champions—as critical to sustaining child-focused resilience programs. It highlights how school safety, children’s participation, and cross-sectoral governance frameworks can shape more inclusive and enduring DRR-CCA policy landscapes.
