Planning the Electrification of Rural Villages in East Nusa Tenggara Using Renewable Energy Generation

Deskripsi:
This document describes a study that examines the technical and economic feasibility of using renewable energy sources for rural electrification in East Nusa Tenggara (ENT), Indonesia. Focusing on a case study in Belu Regency, the study compares conventional diesel-powered systems with renewable (solar PV and wind turbines) and hybrid energy solutions across basic, moderate, and advanced electrification scenarios. It assesses the impact on CO2 emissions and evaluates the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) for each system. The findings suggest that renewable energy systems, particularly those powered by solar PV, are more competitive and represent a feasible option for rural electrification in ENT.
