This open access paper, titled Multi-source environmental diversity mapping to assess potential level of soil degradation on coffee plantations: Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara”, was authored by C Mutiara et al. and published in the *IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science* in 2024. The study addresses the critical issue of soil degradation resulting from coffee plantation land use in the Ende district of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. Coffee cultivation is economically crucial to the region, but its expansion, coupled with factors like steep slopes and volcanic soils, risks long-term agricultural and environmental sustainability. The research, conducted in May to June 2024, aimed to thoroughly assess the Potential Level of Soil Degradation (PLSD) and identify its key driving factors, especially as coffee productivity in the regency has shown a consistent decline over the past six years (dropping from 7.01 tonnes/ha to 6.49 tonnes/ha between 2021 and 2023).
