Drought Analysis in East Nusa Tenggara (Indonesia) Using Regional Frequency Analysis

This article presents a drought analysis in East Nusa Tenggara Province using the Regional Frequency Analysis (RFA) approach based on the L-moment statistical method. The study aims to identify rainfall distribution patterns and calculate annual drought occurrences in several meteorological regions of NTT based on observational data from rainfall stations.

The results show that most areas in NTT experience significant drought, which can be classified as hydrometeorological disasters with specific return periods. This study not only provides spatial mapping of drought levels but also offers crucial data to support water resource management planning and adaptation strategies in response to climate change impacts in Indonesia’s dry tropical regions.
