Indonesia’s location along the equatorial line gives it a tropical climate, making it prone to hydrometeorological disasters such as landslides, floods, and droughts. Effective disaster management is essential to ensure preparedness, and it must involve both men and women equally. Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, is one of the regions implementing gender-responsive disaster management. With 70% of its area consisting of mountainous terrain, Bima is highly susceptible to landslides and flash floods. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with Capacities and Vulnerabilities Analysis (CVA) to assess women’s participation in disaster response, particularly in Kelompok Siaga Bencana (KSB) and Women Champion Groups. While women are involved, their participation remains limited due to gender inequality. However, their engagement, though not comprehensive, highlights their capacity in disaster management.
