Food Security and Food Production Systems

Deskripsi:
This document, part of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) Working Group II, examines how climate change is already affecting and will continue to impact global food security and food production systems. It highlights that rising temperatures, shifting rainfall patterns, and more frequent extreme weather events are reducing crop yields, threatening the stability of food supplies, and increasing vulnerabilities—especially in tropical and developing regions. The report emphasizes that while agricultural adaptation measures such as improved water management, resilient crop varieties, and diversified farming systems are essential, they remain insufficient without significant global mitigation efforts to limit future climate risks.
