This study examines the relationship between rainfall and household water consumption in semi-arid areas of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), using data from 17 regions with case studies in one town and one village. The findings show that average household water use is 107 liters per person per day. Although statistical analysis indicates a negative correlation between rainfall and water consumption—meaning people tend to use more water when rainfall is low—the relationship is not significant. The study concludes that household water consumption is shaped by multiple interconnected social, cultural, economic, and climatic factors, with no single factor, including rainfall, acting as the dominant influence.
