Climate Action 101: Indonesia’s Guide for Newbies

The open-access publication, Climate Action 101: Indonesia’s Guide for Newbies, written by The Habibie Center (THC) and the Society of Renewable Energy (SRE) Indonesia and published in September 2024, serves as an essential and accessible guide aimed at equipping young Indonesians to tackle the climate crisis. The book begins by simplifying complex concepts such as emissions, the greenhouse effect, and the meaning of ‘Net Zero’, emphasizing that the crisis poses urgent threats to Indonesia’s economy, biodiversity, and public health. Uniquely tailored to the Indonesian context, the guide highlights the dual challenge of pursuing ambitious climate action while balancing the country’s need for economic growth.
