Fully Developed Proposal for Single Country – Ecosystem-based Adaptation to Support Climate Resilience of Coastal and Small Islands of Rote and Sabu in Savu Sea

Deskripsi:
This document is a fact sheet about the Strategic Planning and Action to strengthen climate resilience of Rural Communities in Nusa Tenggara Timor Province (SPARC) project, led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It outlines the project’s approach and expected results, which focus on strengthening institutional capacity and the livelihoods of vulnerable rural communities. The document is highly relevant to the context of NTT, as it highlights the province’s challenges, including its status as one of the poorest in Indonesia and its high vulnerability to climate change impacts such as high climate variability, repeated crop failures, and a high occurrence of natural disasters. The project aims to address these issues by developing climate-resilient institutions and communities, strengthening livelihoods that are largely dependent on subsistence agriculture, and improving food and water security.
